Lucy Foster - Dance Teacher
Lucy started her training at the age of 14 studying Contemporary dance. She then trained at Trinity Laban Conservatoire for 2 years with their Youth Dance Company allowing opportunities to perform at multiple venues.
At the age of 18, Lucy then began her professional dance training at a vocational college studying many genres of dance which then enabled her to continue her vocational training at Addict Dance Academy gaining a BA Honours degree in dance. During this time she had multiple opportunities learning from industry professionals and having the opportunities to perform at different venues such as Move It!
She then developed an interest in teaching and secured a place at the Royal Academy of Dance studying to gain a PGCE:QTS.
Katie is an experienced drama teacher and acting coach. She has been working with children and adults for over a decade. She has a wealth of experience in the industry having worked as an actress in film, theatre and commercials as well as an entertainer on cruise ships before embarking on her teaching career.
Katie's training includes: Performing Arts Degree- Christchurch University, Actor Training - Arts Educational School, Professional Arts Practice BA Honours Degree - Italia Conti,
Stage Combat- Young Blood London, TV Presenting - London Academy TV Film and Radio,
Katie has also completed training in Child Protection, SEN and Drama Therapy. Katie is a teacher that wants every student to be seen, to be heard and most importantly to be themselves. Katie knows how important drama is in helping young people to build confidence which will help them in the future, no matter what field or direction they go in their lives.Katie looks forward to seeing you all in class!
Bronte has been working professionally as an actor for 10 years. Since graduating from The Oxford School of Drama, she has performed in theatres all over the UK, including the Westend. Her career so far has been varied, working in TV, Radio and Theatre. A few years ago she started teaching alongside her acting career, teaching all age groups in drama and musical theatre. Bronte aims to create a fun and professional environment in her classes that reflects the industry, giving students a safe space to be super creative.
Chloe trained in Drama and Applied Theatre at St Mary’s University, Twickenham. She has always enjoyed performing on stage since she was little and was never shy of a camera. She has worked with many groups of children within: schools, police conferences, during shows and in Santiago, Chile. She also has strong skills in singing and stand-up comedy and has performed in various venues throughout London and the South East. During recent years she gained lots of knowledge in many different styles of acting and successful teaching methods, which she loves passing onto everyone. And, most importantly she is very excited to have some fun and pass on her enthusiasm for acting, dancing and singing with everyone at Spotlight Acting
Ava has attended performing arts classes since the age of 3 years old.
She loves all aspects of performance but her favourite is singing!
Ava loves working with the Mini Class and she also assists on the workshop events which she really enjoys!
Ava hopes to attend drama school in the future and her ambition is to perform in the westend.
Dave trained with the BBC as a sound engineer and worked at Broadcasting House in London before moving into radio production and presentation. He spent several years working on air for BBC radio. He moved into training in the mid-nineties, training as a facilitator and then working with General Motors as a trainer and communication specialist. This work led to some years in Middle East. Upon his return to the UK, he became director of a post-production house in London taking on the role as head of audio as well as working as a video editor.
In 2008 he returned to freelance life. Along with audio and video work he has performed as a presenter and actor, along with voice over and production. He brings a broad knowledge of the industry from both sides of the camera/microphone and enjoys passing on his knowledge and skills to the next generation of talent.
Chelsie Austen - Musical Theatre Teacher
Chelsie graduated from The Urdang Academy, where she studied a Degree in Musical Theatre. She has 8 years teaching experience and has a Diploma in Singing Teaching. Chelsie loves watching the children grow both their skills and confidence and super excited to meet the Spotlight Acting students! Her credits as a performer include: wicked Witch Of The West in Wizard of Oz Pantomime (Sittingbourne, Kent), Lead Vocalist MSC Cruises, Dorothy in Wizard Of Oz Pantomime (SAGA), Cinderella in Cinderella Pantomime (Fred Olsen), Lead Vocalist/Company Manager at SAGA Cruises, Lead Vocalist on Fred Olsen cruises, Billy Elliot & Oliver in the West End, featured singer at the O2 Arena, Got To Dance Semi-Finalist, X-Factor backing vocalist and various tv & film productions. Chelsie love’s teaching, sharing her passion, experience, and love for Theatre with her students.
Training at The Urdang Academy on the musical theatre degree! Her previous training includes 2 years at Emil Dale Academy & the MX Masterclass where she was awarded a dance scholarship. Ellie has been performing since childhood, performing in shows in the West End, pantomimes and in “Bring it on the musical” at the Southwark Playhouse.
Ellie has many years previous experience teaching also choreographing several showcases, “Matilda the musical Jnr” as well as “Elf the musical Jnr”, I’m super excited to be joining this incredible school!
